FINAL

Easter is past.  Three hundred sixty days until the next one.  But the real truth of it exists every single day - the miracle thrives - every day.

Jesus came to rescue us from shame, condemnation and guilt.  Anybody done anything to be guilty about?

Since Jesus rose from the dead and came to die in your place as your substitute because He loved you, that means there’s no longer any condemnation for what you’ve done.  There’s no shame.  You are not what you have done.  Guilt doesn’t get the last word - because of the resurrection of Jesus.

Injustice doesn’t have the final say either.  Sure, good things happen to not-so-good people and bad things happen to good people, but because of the resurrection, Jesus is going to one day set everything right.

Addiction doesn’t get to laugh in your face because of the resurrection.  That thing that has an iron grip on your life gets shredded.  If it’s harmed your spirit or your body, the resurrection is the power that restores you.  Where you’ve been punished by sin, the resurrection frees you.

Sorry and pain - they don’t hold the winning hand.  There is coming a future day when none of that will exist, because of the resurrection.  Same with wounds and scars and abuses - all of them will be utterly powerless and will fall away.  Jesus will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

Depression - anxiety - fear - despair — all crumble in the face of the resurrection of Jesus.  If the wall looks insurmountably thick - if the hurdle impossibly high - the giant formidably strong - He promises a way out - a way around - a way through.

And death?  The power of the resurrection causes us to laugh in its face.  And even though life is temporary here, one day He will burst through the clouds and we will see Him in all His power and glory.  We’ll join Him and rule and reign with Him — eternally.

Evangelist Billy Graham once said:  ‘One day you’ll hear Billy Graham is dead.  Don’t believe it.  I’ll be more alive than ever; I’ll just have changed addresses.’

Me too.
